Apartment Review
My Home
Review Date: 10/27/2009

After reading the previous review I decided to write my own to give the apartment building its needed justice. I have been a resident of this apartment complex for a year now and I have to say I love it. The architecture of this 1920's building is gorgeous. It was once a hotel building that was one of a few "fire proof, earthquake proof" models. It has thick concrete/ brick walls/ floors/ ceilings. High ceilings, freshly painted with new flooring including Berber carpet. Each apartment has unique features and are very spacious. There is a wide open lobby and is controlled access (never seen a "spanish solicitor" enter the building ... if by spanish you mean spanish speaking than say that). The building manager is one of the main reasons why I decided to move in. He is very attentive and helpful. He is always available when needed. The building is in the middle of everything. On the edge of Mid-City and Country Club Park. You should know what you are getting into when you decide to live in any part of Los Angeles. I love the rich culture of the nearby communities and the art gallery located on the first floor. This building is very pet friendly so as long as you make sure the window screens are reinforced. Making the decision to live in an apartment means that you are ready to deal with the basic issues with apartments such as the occasional roach (apartments are sprayed routinely when requested), out of service elevator (consider it a free gym membership when you need to take the stairs), water shut offs when there is a repair being done (I am usually at work so this doesn't affect me), a short waiting list of repairs (with 80 something units it is understandable but emergencies are handled immediately) and a lack of parking (this is pretty much true anywhere in Los Angeles). This apartment has become the only home that I have known and loved. Moving in was the best decision I have ever made.
