Apartment Review for The Villas At Park La Brea - Los Angeles, CA

I have been living in los angeles for several years now and have moved to 7 different apartment complexes around the area. Park La Brea apartments by far is the WORST of them all. On the first day of moving in, I came home to several wasps and a large wasp hive in my unit. That is just the beginning. Within the next couple days after moving in, I was coming home from work everyday to: cockroaches, grasshoppers, crickets, worms, spiders, spider eggs, wasps, wasp hives, beetles, beetle eggs, and ticks. They were constantly coming out from vents and cracks in the old building, also mainly from drains in the bathtub and sink. I called their maintenance office several times regarding the situation which they never bothered to fix. Then after 6 months of putting up with the filth, I contacted the rude, unprofessional, and untrained leasing staff and asked to terminate my lease. RUDELY, they gave me instructions on how to end my lease which I followed carefully. 3 weeks after moving out of the filthy and old apartment complex, I receive a letter in the mail from an attorney's office representing PLB suing me for $12,300 for no wrong doing!! Luckily, California law protects tenants from evil apartment complexes and landlords like Park La Brea. Not only was I paying $1,500 a month to live with thousands of bugs, I was sued by the apartment for no wrong doing! When I called the apartment to find out what my case was about, they unprofessionally said they can not say a word to me regarding this case and RUDELY hung up on me. I wish this upon nobody...so unless you like to be sued for 12 g's, I really DO NOT suggest Park La Brea for everyones sake. Or if my story has not stopped you from moving in, PLEASE hire a lawyer ahead of time for your own good. Do not get tricked by them!!
