Apartment Review for The Plaza Apartments - Los Angeles, CA

We lived there a year and couldn't get out of there fast enough. The unit has no storage, a tiny kitchen (so small that my husband and I could not be in there at the same time and we are both trim people), even tinier bathrooms (again, we could not brush our teeth at the same time), and grimy bathtubs. The fans in the bathrooms would blow out (vs. exhaust in), so the bathroom and bedroom would get steamed up unless we opened the window. Since the building across the street can look right in, it was often "tricky" taking a shower and not giving the neighbors a show. We complained about the fans when we moved in and they did nothing, even though the health department is on them to fix it. (The moisture could lead to mold I believe.) The noise is HORRIBLE! There is either a garbage truck or leaf blower 6 out of 7 mornings at 6 to 7AM. Let's talk about hot water or the lack of. It would work much of the time, but we were never quite sure if it would be working OR how long it would take to warm up. It seemed to depend on what time of day it was, but we couldn't figure out the exact pattern. Plus, it would "break" often and they used bandaid solutions to fix it temporarily - only for it to break again. Also, the direct TV would go out a lot because the wiring was substandard. To add insult to injury, they are keeping much of our security deposit for normal wear and tear items. We took very good care of the unit, but they are charging us to repaint the entire apartment for tiny scuff marks. Why? Because they use custom paint and will not do touch ups. I want to mention that we lived in our last apartment for 8 years and received our full deposit back. We are good tenants and are not prone to complaining, but this was a horrible experience. PLEASE CHECK OTHER SITES FOR THEIR RATINGS BEFORE MOVING HERE. You will see similar reviews, if not worse.
