Apartment Review for The Deco Suites - Los Angeles, CA

So having lived here for a few months I've noticed several problems with the property that make it unlawful to operate without fixing. Luckily I'm leaving soon. So, before you sign the lease do bring these items up as well as california civil codes (specifically 1941, 1942) that state the requirements of habitability. For example, bolts need to be installed in all apartment unit entrance door- that hasn't happened and this has been open since early last year! Another, walls are not soundproofed. This you will learn the hard way and may be the biggest reason not to live here. Violation of privacy and right to peaceable living conditions, one might say? Oh, and don't forget the unsecured entrance. A fugitive could walk in just as easily as a resident given the front door hangs ajar (not to mention has a huge crack in the glass). And, if you have kids, do check the national sexual offender registry...you might be surprised to find out who your neighbors really are...just a note...And finally, things are generally substandard- even the elevator hasn't been working. Why? Don't ask the management, because for some reason every problem "is being worked on" or has "my guys working on it" or "has been put on a work order". Potential residents, do be prepared before signing....
