belmont station..HUGE HUGE mistake!!
Review Date: 1/7/2009 Reviewer: Anonymous
Don't get me wrong from the outside the Belmont Station looks impeccable(It should be everything is brand new). However, looks can be very deceiving! Whoever constructed the place didn't take into account that maybe people would like some privacy in their own homes. The walls are so PAPER THIN that u can hear ur neighbors as if they were in the same room. And I'm not talking about people yelling. I'm talking about plain old conversation like ur talking to someone on the phone. Good luck complaining about the noise, too. Management will tell u that 'urban' noises are allowed & only extreme noises will be dealt with by sending security to tell the neighbors u just complained about to quiet down bc ur neighbors(you) are complaining. It's pretty obvious who complained. I'm sure ur neighbors will love u for that! I don't know about management, but when u had a long day & u want to get some sleep peace & quiet shouldn't be an option in an apartment ur paying top dollar for. Why should u have to put up with 'urban noises because they poorly built the place?!' Try to imagine sleeping in ur bed with people having a conversation right next to u. If u can acclimate to that then u still have the problem of dealing with the noise from heavy passing traffic, dogs that everyone in the apartment complex seems to own that bark nonstop when the front door slams or if one dog barks, or the insanely ear piercing fire alarm that goes off like it has a mind of its own. In the past two months(nov-dec 2008) the fire alarm went off unprovoked at least a half dozen times! Mostly in the late & early morning hours when people sleep. So ANNOYING!!!! Isn't this apartment suppose to be new?! I solved this problem by purchasing earplugs. I pay over two thousand dollars a month & I have to use earplugs to sleep in my own apartment! What a f'in joke! The noise is just the beginning of ur problems. DON'T be fooled by their gimmicks... free rent, move-in specials, washer/dryer in each unit, swimming pool, etc. Once u move in u'll see why they gave u the free rent, etc. They'll nickel & dime u by charging some fee that the city charges them. They say it is within their legal rights to do so.. Talk about being cheap!! Oh, & they won't tell u that they are charging u this fee until u are signing the lease.. how shady is that?! If u have a dog, they'll require a pet deposit of $500 which is pretty standard, but they'll also charge u an additional $30.00 a month on top of ur rent! Is it just me..why should a dog have to pay rent?! Ur already putting a pet deposit to cover the possible damages that ur pet can do. That's how cheap this place is! Everything about this apartment stinks..literally!! Let's just say that u know when somebody on ur floor is cooking fish stew. Why did they put the kitchen next to the front door without adequate ventilation..beats me. From washer/dryers that can only handle a few articles of clothing at a time or u'll find detergent on them at the end of the wash to very limited guest parking spots if u want to invite friends over for a get together but there aren't enough parking spaces for them(u'll see why guest parking spaces are important when u see the surrounding neighborhood at night). The Belmont Station is the worst apartment I've lived in & I've only been here for a couple months. Don't be like me & get blinded by the free rent offer & everything being new. Now I know why they were so eager to offer me 2 free months on a 12 month lease. I hope this helps any of u out there apartment hunting. I have alot more things I can say but I think u get the gist.. BOTTOM LINE: I can't wait till my lease ends!!! |
