Apartment Review for Alexio Apartments - Los Angeles, CA

I have lived in this building for alomost a year now. Thank heavens my lease is finally up!!! We have had repetitive break ins in our building and parking structures. I had not 1 but 2 windows smashed out of my car. THere are signs everywhere saying the building is under surveillance but they are false and up until May 5, 2008... there were only 4 cameras in the entire building that covered only the main entrances. We have BLACK MOLD in our bathroom. We made 4 complaints to get it cleaned up before we had to call in the health department who notified her that she had 2 weeks to clean it up... it never got done still! We have leaks in our ceiling that she "fixed" only to thave them leak again everytime it rains... all over our furniture and clothes. Our hallways light fixture fell off the ceiling leaving wires exposed when it finally filled up with enough water that the screws couldn't hold it on anymore. THis is still not fixed (3 months later). People have been urinating in the parking structure doorways so you have to walk by a puddle of pee and the occasional vomit pile which don't get cleaned up for weeks sometimes more than a month. RIght now we have vomit splashed all around the elevator door entrance and the surrounding areas that has been there since before my birthday which was April 14 (today is May 8). When we make ocmplaints to our landlady... she dodges every acceptable way to fix problems. She is argumentative and irresponsible. THis is a slum building with a slum lord. I would not recommend this to anybody easpecially striving actors or musicians who can not afford a lawyer. ALso... very very loud and un insulated. I hear my neighbors getting busy often. Oh and there are huge cockroaches in the parking garage and baby ones all over the building. I had to buy my own traps to get them out of my kitchen when we moved in. And there was a fire in the building destroying 2 apartments right below me. Our apartment was never even checked for smoke damage or anything. NOthing was replaced. Even the water soaked rug from the water was dried and re-used. Good luck to whoever takes the risk of living in the Alexio.
