| In case you don't have time to read the long review that will follow, let me sum it up for you: Stupid, incompetant, ineffective managementAnt problemConstantly broken elevatorA/C problemsTandem parking I moved into Skyline in July. I know most of the housing I've looked at in the downtown/USC area has its drawbacks so I wasn't expecting it to be a dream come true. Needless to say, I moved into an apartment with a broken elevator. I thought to myself that was no big deal and if that was the worst part of living here, everything would be fine. Next I found that there was a leak in the ceiling. It took three weeks of constant nagging for management to even send someone up to look at it, at which point he informs me that an A/C specialist must be called to fix the leak. Three months later and the leak STILL hasn't been fixed. It leaks BUCKETS a day and gets all over the apartment as it spews from every which way. Besides the leak and the managements inability to get someone to fix it, there is a BAD ant problem. These are not just any ants, they are SUPER mutant ants that refuse to die by means of bug chalk or raid, and won't go away. Our apartment is VERY clean but they still pop up in new places every day, mostly places where we don't even have food. I reported this problem to management as well, at which point they had a guy come up and basically spray all the ants he saw with Raid. Wow. If that worked I wouldn't have been calling him. In addition to the constantly broken elevator, crappy management, and ant problem, the genuises of Skyline decided to rebuild the roof in the middle of summer. The maintenance workers doing the roofing managed to cut the A/C lines of half the 7th and 8th floor apartments. In addition to that wonderful fact in the heat of LA summer, theybegan their daily POUNDING on the roof at about 6:00 or 6:30 in the morning, EVERY SINGLE MORNING. Waking up to pounding right above your ceiling is certainly not the most pleasant wake-up call. Overall, the actual units are so-so, the grounds are okay, but the management is horribly incompetant and rude, maintenance is a joke, ants are all over, elevators never work, tandem parking is a pain in the butt, and I would only recomment=d this place to an ex boyfriend who lied to me, broke my heart, and ran off to Vegas with my best friend. Don't live here. |
